Strengthening Minds & Bodies with Pilates.
Pilates uniquely offers a blend of physical movements and mental focus that work in unison to improve overall well-being. It was designed to create long and lean muscles, utilizing a strength and stretch approach to workouts.
Physically, Pilates strengthens the core muscles, enhances flexibility, and promotes better posture, leading to a more balanced and toned body. The controlled, precise movements help develop muscle endurance and coordination, and can prevent injuries by improving strength and flexibility.
Mentally, Pilates requires focused concentration and deep, rhythmic breathing, which reduces stress and improves mental clarity. This mindful approach to exercise fosters a stronger connection between mind and body and cultivates a sense of calm and well-being.
About the Instructor
I opened Trillium Pilates with the goal of sharing my love of fitness and passion for coaching with my community. I coached professionally and recreationally for 20 years in a variety of levels and sports and received my Pilates Certification through PAST (Pilates Academy of Strength and Transformation). Additionally, I have volunteered for various committees that focus on furthering sport, inclusion and education. My shift to teaching Pilates began with the desire to share the benefits of Pilates with others. I appreciate the philosophy of Pilates and the whole-body approach, including control, connection and clarity. This three pronged approach made me think of the Trillium flower and its stunning three layered bloom, hence the name of the studio.
When I’m not teaching or practicing Pilates, I enjoy traveling and spending time outdoors with my family and dog, hiking, paddleboarding or rock climbing.
I am ready to support your fitness journey and help you achieve your goals in whatever stage you’re in. It is your training and I am here to collaborate with you to find a workout that makes you feel healthy and happy. I am thrilled to be located in St. Johns and be a part of its community. I look forward to working with you!

Elevating your wellness journey through expert guidance
Pilates is a low-impact exercise method developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century, focusing on strengthening the core muscles, improving flexibility, and enhancing overall body awareness. It combines controlled movements, precise breathing techniques, and a strong emphasis on alignment and posture. Suitable for all fitness levels, Pilates can be performed on a mat or using specialized equipment like the Reformer, Cadillac, and Wunda Chair. The exercises aim to create a balanced, strong, and flexible body while promoting relaxation and reducing stress. Whether used for general fitness, injury rehabilitation, or athletic conditioning, Pilates offers a holistic approach to physical and mental well-being.
